Supima® yarns have fewer loose “ends” and form the fewest pills (clusters of tangled fibers), which are uncomfortable and unsightly.
White Tie yarns are 20–40 percent thinner than other sheets, allowing 500 Supima® yarns to be packed into a square inch (500 threadcount) that weighs less than average sheets with 300 threadcounts. While ultra-fine yarns are typically pliant, the dense 500 threadcount weave restricts yarn movement to provide a slight crispness that never washes out.
For increased durability, White Tie uses a twill weave (blue jeans and Dunhill raincoats are twills). Supima® cotton combined with a twill weave is typical in expensive blouses or dress shirts -- White Tie are the only sheets utilizing this combination. Flat sheets are generously oversized and even turned back reach all the way to the floor. Fitted sheets accommodate mattresses up to 17".
