cannot be compared with cotton. Bamboo’s cell structure bends twice as easily as cotton and stretches three times more.
, just below knit (jersey) sheets.
: With an unsurpassed high water content (bamboo cells hold almost 50% more water than cotton and twice that of polyester) Second Skin feels cooler to your touch.
With higher amounts of water, more of your body’s heat is absorbed – so you feel cooler. Bamboo is best for finding the coolest parts of your sheets when you move at night. BREATHABLE
: Bamboo viscose cells hold more water and also absorb 50% more water than cotton (13% moisture regain versus 8%). Increased absorption is helpful if you perspire
lightly. SKIN FRIENDLY
: The high water content is especially comfortable to human skin, which is 64% water
. Second Skin viscose sheets are more ‘akin to human skin’
than sheets made from any other fiber. LIGHT
: Because of the spectacular drape, most of the Second Skin sheet rests on your mattress, not on your body. Second Skin feels lighter than cotton
although bamboo viscose is 5% heavier. SAFER
: Second Skin chemically-safe sheets contain no irritants
to damage your skin or allergens
to disrupt your hormonal balance or trigger allergic reactions. Highly recommended for users with sensitive skin, eczema or psoriasis. HELPFUL TIPS:
- Bamboo fiber holds oil better than other fibers. Not recommended for use with oil-based creams or lotions. If you're using facial creams or oily hair treatments (for baldness) pillowcases made from cotton or polyester are recommended.
You will not enjoy Second Skin sheets if you prefer airy space between you and your sheets; choose from other cooling sheets instead.
For ultra-hot climates: there is nothing better than leaving Second Skin sheets in your refrigerator or freezer for a few hours before putting them on your bed. (First put them in a protective bag.) Like mini-water balloons the cold, water-filled bamboo cells will keep you cool as you fall asleep. A tip from our missionary friends in Africa’s Sahara Desert!
