The main drawback of cotton flannel sheets is excessive pilling. Pills are tangled clusters of loose fibers on the fabric surface that are formed by fabric abrasion when you move at night (and especially when flannel sheets are over-dried). Pills are unsightly, uncomfortable and can scratch sensitive skin. All cotton flannel sheets develop pills over time.
Ingenious Let It Snow sheets reduce pilling by bringing together a tightly-packed weave, combed cotton and a rare shearing process for the softest cotton flannel sheets after constant laundering.
Let It Snow starts with expensive combed cotton, which has fewer loose fibers than regular cotton and is spun into extra-fine yarn (20% thinner than other flannel sheets) so the pills are fewer and substantially smaller; they also break off easier and wash away during laundering. Let It Snow sheets are brushed on both sides. A rare shearing process trims the flannel surface to a uniform height to further reduce pilling.

Do not wash with towels or clothing (never zippers!) that abrade the softer flannel fibers and can create uncomfortable pills (tangled fiber clusters).
Rinse in cool water (twice if your machine has that option) to remove excess detergent.
Fabric softeners not recommended! Chemicals stick to the fuzzy fibers and Let It Snow flannel sheets can feel waxy, can’t breathe or insulate as well.
Dry cool or warm. To reduce shrinkage and pilling DO NOT DRY ON HIGH HEAT and DO NOT OVER-DRY. Over-drying also reduces flannel sheets’ lifespan. Remove when slightly damp (yes, damp!) and put on your bed to finish drying. Moderate wrinkles can be pressed out by 'hand-ironing' on your mattress.
LINT / SHEDDING: Don’t be alarmed by excessive lint, the loose cotton fiber that remains on the sheet’s surface after the fabric is brushed. Lint stops after the first few laundry cycles.
SHRINKAGE: Let It Snow flannel sheets are cut oversize to compensate for shrinkage, which stabilizes after the first few laundry cycles. To avoid excessive shrinking, DON’T over-dry!
